Lisa works tirelessly, is knowledgeable and patient. I found her to be a person who knew how something was going to play out and used her skill and expertise to make it happen. Lisa will be a good resource going forward also. Guess I have learned that staying in business is as important as being in business. I would recommend Lisa Sherman in a heartbeat.

Billy

Lisa is our go to employment lawyer for California. She has assisted us with complex classification issues and many other employee disciple/termination and wage/hour matters. She is very responsive and thorough and would highly recommend her.

Robert

I engaged Ms. Sherman to research and present a legal education course on the subject of legal ethics in the age of social media. She did an outstanding job. She researched the topic very thoroughly and developed a highly informative presentation on the subject.

Lisa was critically important in defeating my employer’s motions for summary judgment, not to mention, all of the emergency motions and pre-trial filings that followed. Even when there were a lot of unanticipated setbacks, Lisa always stayed positive and successfully adjusted our strategy. After our judge issued a 43 page single-spaced order denying my employer’s motion for summary judgment, the win was short-lived because my employer quickly filed a motion for reconsideration which was granted before my attorneys even had a chance to respond. Lisa spearheaded the efforts to seek emergency relief which ultimately resulted in reinstating all of my claims for trial. While my case was resolved the week before trial, I know that Lisa’s contributions to my case were instrumental. If you are considering whether to retain Lisa, look no further.

Lisa went above and beyond my expectations. She was attentive and diligent in her work. I found her to be extremely helpful in assessing my case and produced positive results for me. I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of a employment and labor attorney.

When you hire Lisa as your attorney you are hiring a human being first, and that is exactly how you will be treated. Lisa took my case and from day one she made me feel like she was in my corner and would fight for me. She not only treated me with respect but as if I was a member of her own family. With Lisa I hired an attorney and ended up with a true friend for life. Not only would I recommend Lisa to anyone looking for an employment attorney I will use Lisa in for any and all of my businesses in the future. Her knowledge of the law is exceptional and you will always be treated like a person and not a percentage. What more can I say about Lisa? Hire her!!!

I was referred to Lisa because I had a difficult labor law issue. I found her work to be thorough, on time and extremely helpful in resolving the matter. Lisa's integrity and persistence helped me resolve the matter to my satisfaction. I would recommend her unreservedly to those who need help in the labor law area and who don't want to pay the heavy overhead charges of large or even mid-sized law firms.

She has done outstanding work on every matter she assisted us with and has made our lawyers and our clients very happy to have had her on our side.

I have had the pleasure working with Lisa Sherman for many years. She is a smart, savvy attorney who commits herself fully to all of her cases. She is a fierce litigator and is not afraid to ask the difficult, but necessary questions. She is especially skilled with employment matters and understands the nuances of employment law. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Melissa

I've worked with Lisa over the past 3 years and she is extremely knowledgeable. She brings years of first hand experience and knows what you need for your business regardless of the size. Lisa will make sure your business is in compliance and that your HR practices and agreements are up to today's standards. Furthermore, Lisa is very personable and a joy to work with. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a sharp and experienced labor attorney.

I was very impressed. I tell people "This gal was a Tiger"! She really searched the ends of the earth to represent me, not just go through the motions. It was the first time I went through this, she got me through it. It's back to business now thanks to Lisa. I'm going to look to her in the future for advice on hiring and firing. It's no joke anymore. This new age of entitled employees know just enough about labor law to take you down - and plenty of slip and fall attorneys out there will help them along. She told me "A 15 minute phone call will save you from this". Thanks Lisa, your professionalism and tenacity really saved the day here.

Lisa is an awesome lawyer. She uses her expertise to help you. If you need someone who can get the job done and represent your needs, she is definitely the one to hire. I hired her to help me with my severance negotiation agreement. She was upfront with me as far as costs and what it would take. If you need a lawyer that can fight your rights as an employee/ex-employee; you need to hire Lisa Sherman.

Lori Patoros

Lisa really went the extra mile here looking into the claims filed against me. It was impressive watching her in action presenting our side of the story. She kept all involved on an even keel and came up with a settlement that was reasonable - for both sides. Finding that obscure formula that calculated overtime for piecework really saved me a lot of money. She really went the extra mile, something I really value in anyone I deal with. Going forward, I am going to have to address my old school way of doing things. Just paying your employees good wages and being kind to them is not a good business strategy nor a defense should you find yourself in front of the Labor Commission. Having someone like Lisa Sherman in your corner is. You really saved the day here, I can't recommend Lisa Sherman highly enough.

Billy Syms

I hired Lisa to negotiate my severance agreement. She did a beautiful job and represented me very well. If you want coddling, go elsewhere. If you want a good attorney to get the job done, hire Lisa.

Mindy McLees

Smart, savvy, effective, and attentive. Lisa knows her stuff and gets things done with amazing speed and efficiency. Her passion for her work and her dedication to the client are unparalleled. She is a joy to work with, and I would be happy to work with her again.

Lisa is a top-notch attorney who has exceeded our expectations. We hired Lisa after having a bad experience with another attorney and boy do I wish we started with her! She is readily available, extremely knowledgeable, thorough, professional, and fun. I've learned a lot and highly recommend her!

"No employer wants to find themselves in receipt of a boilerplate letter from lawyers representing an angry employee. A year prior I had laid off a part time employee, for good and legal reasons. However, the letter was claiming "wrongful termination", and multiple other twisted, and outright false, claims. I felt helpless and misunderstood. Not knowing where to go or who could help me, I reached out to my business attorney, who called these attorneys, wrote a letter, and sent emails, but with no progress. I then asked an attorney friend who did plaintiff employment law to help me, thinking he could "speak their language". However, he wasn’t able to move the needle with these "puppy mill" plaintiff attorneys either. After racking up thousands of dollars in legal fees, I was still nowhere. So, I did what is done in medicine (I am a doctor), I sought out a specialist. The principle in medicine is that because of the complexity of the body, if a pain or disease process is not resolving, it’s time to see a specialist. From the first moment I spoke to Lisa, I knew she "got it." She is a straight shooter, and not only brilliant, but empathetic to my emotional pain. Lisa was the first attorney to offer a straightforward legal strategy from the get-go, and in just over a month from my first contact with her, the case was settled. Although the settlement was more than I had wanted, it was far less than the amount first demanded, or what I could have potentially paid in continued legal fees. I wish I had known about Lisa sooner, not only to help me with this issue, but even before letting this employee go, as she could have helped to avoid the problem in the first place. If you find yourself in any situation like this, or want to prevent it, Lisa is your person. She is a godsend, and I am very, very grateful."

"I want to thank Lisa for all the work she has done for me. I know with Lisa I always had a strong advocate in my corner. I was always impressed with her grasp of the many details, and I would never want to go up against her!"

"Before Lisa took on the case, she asked detailed questions because she said she only wanted to take cases she can confidently defend. I was even more encouraged when I found out that her specialty is defending companies against frivolous lawsuits. I almost lost my hope in the goodness of humanity with the two plaintiffs in my case, but she restored it with her selflessness. She is truly a brilliant lawyer with a heart of gold."

"After the employment attorney hired by my insurance broker to provide harassment training to my Company’s supervisors did not show up, little did I know that her replacement, Lisa Sherman, would win me and my executive management over the way she did. Her presentation, bar none, not only covered what our supervisors needed to know, but gave real life examples from her own litigation experiences and through recent jury verdicts to wake up our management. After Lisa had informed us about a recent jury verdict where the employer fired the employee for stealing a 68 cent bell pepper, we had a similar situation occur right after the training at one of our stores. After seeking the advice of our current employment counsel, and contacting Lisa, we were sold on her. Since then we have retained her as our employment counsel. After Lisa informed me during harassment training that our proposed employee handbook, that was reviewed by several attorneys and human resource consultants still needed work, she not only reduced her rates to get it done, the final product was fantastic. Since then, we call her when we need her and she is always available, cost-efficient and informative. We feel fortunate to have her apart of our Company’s family."

"I have worked with Lisa Sherman for close to 20 years on a variety of employment-related matters for her clients and mine. She not only delivers the highest quality representation to our clients and is generous with her time, but time and time again, I have watched her singlehandedly craft and deliver highly effective tactics in litigation and transactional matters for her clients that several attorneys at a big law firm at four times the price could not do. When Lisa was pregnant with her oldest daughter -- who incidentally is now 17 years old -- not even 105 degree heat and morning sickness slowed her down during highly contentious, complex litigation against her client, and the same was true just this summer in the desert, where in both cases, I served as the independent investigator with Lisa at the helm doing nothing short of a spectacular job."

"I devoted 25 years of my life working for a small office where I was praised and told that I could work there as long as I wanted. As soon as the new President took over, he tried to push me out with the help of his aggressive attorneys, which was a harrowing and extremely emotional experience for me. Thankfully, Lisa represented me every step of the way, making herself available to me and my family members, sometimes several times a day over six months to make sure that I was legally protected and that I was physically and emotionally getting the help that I needed. I was married to a litigator so I know how hard Lisa worked and that no other attorney would have put the time in that she did to achieve what I wanted."
